Spring in Sunshine Coast is a lovely mild season in the main, but there’s a few rainy days, as well as some cooler ones, in between all the sunshine. That said, spring is an amazing time for a wedding because everyone’s coming out of the winter fug and they have summer to look forward to. There are endless possibilities, so let’s take a look at some of the ways you can make your spring wedding even more special.
Be bold with your palette
Forget all the pastels! Spring is about life resuming after winter, so opt for bright and solid colours. No chintzes or ginghams – they’re a bit passé now; it’s time to strike out with a riot of greens, pinks, reds and oranges. There’s an amazing light in spring, so make the most of these hues!
Don’t forget your umbrellas
With an average temperature of 18C, but lows of 14C and a good chance of showers, you need to make sure your guests are comfortable all day. One great idea is to give out see-through umbrellas as wedding favours, just in case there’s a downpour. You can also provide shawls or ponchos to help people to stay warm and dry. Just to balance things out, offer sunscreen as well! You never know!
Be prepared for an indoor photo shoot
If the weather does take a funny turn and rainy shoots just aren’t your thing, make sure your photographer is ready for some indoor work. Ask if they’ve shot at your venue before and ask them to bring along indoor equipment.
Book venues and vendors early
Although spring isn’t the wedding season, don’t make the mistake of thinking that it’s slow! Many venues and suppliers get booked up quickly because people have the same ideas as you’re having – spring is a bit cheaper and the daylight hours and temperatures offer greater flexibility for outdoor celebrations. Get in there quick to avoid disappointment.
